Place of contrasts

Harare, Zimbabwe's capital, is a modern city in the heart of Africa. A bustling urban centre filled with skyscrapers and surrounded by wildlife sanctuaries, Harare offers the best of both worlds.

Place of contrasts's Suggestions

Harare, the modern city

Harare stands out because of its tall buildings and wide streets, a completely modern landscape that showcases both sides of Zimbabwe. This city is a symbol of development, but at the same time it stands right next to magnificent untouched natural landscapes and wildlife sanctuaries.

When in town, make sure you visit the Museum of Human Sciences and the National Gallery — both will give you a different view of this wonderful country.

Also, don't forget to taste the local cuisine, a surprising mix of British food and traditional African dishes.

Right next to wildlife

Right next to wildlife

When in Africa, make sure you don't forget to see the wildlife: Harare is just a few steps away from several animal sanctuaries.
Here, you will come face to face with elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, monkeys and many other creatures. The real African experience is just a few minutes away from the modern capital, Harare.
Join a safari, go for a walk through the botanical gardens, observe the strange-looking balancing rocks or relax in a spa with a gret view. Harare is the best of both worlds, an African treasure with comfort of a very developed city.

Finally, if you are a bird lover, make sure you go to Kuimba Shiri Bird Sanctuary, which is jsut 30 minutes away from Harare!
