TAAG ensures minimum services during the strike period

Luanda - October 7th, 2022 - TAAG, Angola Airlines, informs that the negotiations held between its Board of Directors and the Airline Pilots Union (SPLA) have ended without the parties reaching an agreement. As a result, the SPLA is beginning a strike today, October 7, that will last until October 16, and will affect the scheduling of domestic and international flights. To ensure the continuity of its operation, TAAG will resort to leasing services, reallocating passengers to other airlines, and facilitating the change of travel dates without any penalty for customers and passengers affected by this strike. TAAG's contingency plan will protect the routes with the highest traffic volume. The list of flights scheduled for the strike period will be available on the company's website, and will also be communicated to passengers via Call Center and office network. TAAG's Management, which thanks its passengers for their understanding, continues to make every effort to reach an agreement with the SPLA. At the same time, it is actively working to minimize the impact of the strike and ensure compensation flights. It should be recalled that the demands made by the SPLA focus mainly on the pilots' pay and benefits. However, in the current financial context of TAAG, it is not possible to increase salaries to the extent requested without generating a negative impact on the survival of the company.
