Unaccompanied minors

Conditions

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 are considered “unaccompanied minors” whenever they fly without their parents or tutors.

• Children at least 2 years old may travel without their parents or tutors. TAAG may provide a special assistant for children between the ages of 5 and 11 or until 18;
• No unaccompanied babies under 5 years old will be accepted on board;
• Children between 5 and 11 years old may travel by themselves;
• A passenger aged 16 or over may accompany a child over 5 years of age, provided that they demonstrate the ability to take responsibility for the child throughout the journey, including the check-in process, compliance with customs and airport formalities, and the presentation of a declaration of authorisation for the minor to leave the country, duly certified by a notary or competent authority.

Check-in of unaccompanied minors

The minor must be accompanied to the airport and throughout the entire check-in and airport formalities process by his/her parents, legal tutors, or someone authorized to do so by a parent or tutor.

These people will be responsible for obtaining all the necessary documentation, including a declaration — legally certified by a public notary — that authorizes the child to leave the country.
