This natural park located just 7km off Harare’s centre is regarded as a “national treasure”. Every year, tens of thousands of people visit the Mukuvisi Woodlands Environmental Centre, which was established in 1980 to counteract the region’s increasing urbanisation and protect the local fauna and flora. This wildlife reserve includes typical woodland and savannah ecosystems, housing species such as the giraffe, the impala, the zebra, the jackal and many others. The Centre regularly promotes educational activities and school camps - “Eco-Schools” and “Bushcamps”. There are also horseback safaris and guided tours that allow visitors to contact with the amazing diversity and beauty of Zimbabwean wildlife.
