TAAG CONDUCTS FIRST INITIATIVE WITH CHILDREN IN STREET SITUATIONS
As part of its Social Responsibility actions, TAAG, through the Corporate Volunteering movement “TAAG Helping Hand”, carried out on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, its first initiative with children living in street situations in the city of Luanda.
This initiative aligns with TAAG’s contribution efforts toward Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which includes, among other targets, 16.2 – ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence and torture against children.
During this first action, the volunteer team focused on approaching and building a relationship of trust with children, adolescents, and young people in street situations, aged between 9 and 19 years old.
The activity took place in a serene environment of sharing, with conversations centred around their life stories, names, surnames and nicknames, ages, dreams, and aspirations. For the volunteer group, it was essential to establish inclusive communication based on active listening.
In the medium and long term, this initiative envisions, among other actions: immediate social intervention; voluntary coordination with relevant institutions through partnerships that accelerate support for social reintegration, immediate protection, and regular follow‑up; as well as identifying means and methodologies to carry out solidarity-based activities adapted to the gender and context of children in street situations.
Participating in the activity were the Social Responsibility team and volunteers from the “TAAG Helping Hand” movement, coming from various areas of the Luanda Base.
With this action, TAAG reinforces its commitment and social role in improving the quality of life of people and communities, as established in its Strategic Plan, where Social Responsibility is one of its fundamental pillars.
