Built in the early 1930s, the McMillian Memorial Library is the largest and the oldest library of Nairobi. Its name is a tribute to Sir Northrup McMillan, an American philanthropist who fought for the agricultural development of the region. About 1 000 people a day visit this space. Inside, there are more than 400 thousand publications of various themes and decades, as well as rare and exclusive first editions. The McMillian Memorial Library is also known for its extensive and admirable African book collection.
