In September 1938 two clubs joined to become one. The European Club and the Lagos Golf Club formed the current Ikoyi Club 1938.
From a club reserved for European members only, it became one of the best examples of clubs with a multiracial culture. Allowing members from all nationalities and corners of the world. Promotes, as it stands today, "harmony through recreation". The Club covers an area of 184 hectares and has about 10,000 members.
Located in the Ikoyi neighborhood, one of the upper-class neighborhoods of Nigerian society and home to the richest community in the city of Lagos, the Ikoyi Club 1938 is one of the most prestigious Nigerian Clubs, a national elite reference. The Club aims for highest sport standards, forming Nigerian athletes to the world of sport on an international level.

In the Club it is possible to practice various sports with first class conditions, from swimming, tennis, table tennis, squash, badminton, snooker. Highlight for golf passionates, with an 18-hole course and an area of 5838 meters in length.
For relaxation and well-being of members, there is also a gym, sauna and massages, a restaurant, a barber shop and a library.
