Romanticism in the city center
If you visit these geometric gardens, it’s guaranteed that you will have one of the best views in OPorto. Fall in love with the trees, the peacocks that roam freely, the roses that adorn the gardens, the statues and the lakes that mirror the surrounding environment. After all, they are known as the Romantic Gardens of the Crystal Palace.
The gardens were designed by the German landscape architect Emilio David in the 1860s. Although the Crystal Palace was replaced in 1950 by the Rosa Mota Pavilion, these green spaces have remained original since the 19th century and anyone can visit them freely.
