Menongue - The land of stories
The capital of the Cuando-Cubango province is crossed by the beautiful Kwebe River and is the stage for a great deal of stories shared through oral tradition.
Local citizens gather at the nearest café and willingly share their tales with visitors: stories from the city, the country or their own lives.
The Kuebe River cascades through the city centre, and the Muene Vunongue Fort ruins at the city's outskirts are waiting for your visit.
Menongue is also a doorway for Cuando-Cubango's natural wonders: lush wildlife preserves and natural parks where animals roam freely. Lions, hippopotami, hyenas, rhinos and many other animals call Cuando-Cubango forests their home.
