Luena - the city of honey
A place where a peace treaty was signed, Luena welcomes us with its forests, rivers and lakes as well as its energy, renewed by the rebirth of a city and its people after the war. Large green avenues and modern buildings have breathed new life into Luena.
The Luena Forest Reservation, with nearly 2,000 square kilometres, is known for its beauty and its bee sanctuary that produces the famous Moxico honey. About 90 km away we meet raw nature head on: the Cameia National Park, 14,500 square kilometres inhabited by several animal species, including huge birds that dominate the skies.
To go on a trip to ages past, you should also visit the Ruins of Old Moxico and the archeological remains at the Cassai-Cawéwé river.
