TAAG CELEBRATES THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF “THE CHILD’S VOICE”
As part of its Social Responsibility Programme, TAAG Angola Airlines celebrated the second anniversary of the sustainable social education project “The Child’s Voice” on 31 May, in the city of Lubango, Huíla Province. The initiative’s main objective is to encourage the artistic talent of children and teenagers while promoting citizenship, social inclusion, education and human development, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The celebrations took place on the eve of International Children’s Day and featured a charity concert bringing together a range of young talents. The event was supported by public and private institutions, as well as members of civil society, who contributed to the cause through sponsorships, donations and other forms of collaboration for the benefit of the children under the care of the LAAC Home.
The donations collected included construction materials for the renovation and improvement of the LAAC Home’s essential facilities, particularly its laundry area, drinking-water storage systems, dining hall, washrooms and other sanitation facilities and equipment. The initiative addresses the institution’s ongoing needs, helping to improve the children’s education, nutrition, hygiene and well-being, in accordance with the universal principles for the protection and promotion of children’s rights.
The event was held at the Kero Xyami Hypermarket in Lubango and was attended by TAAG’s Social Responsibility Director, company directors and members of the TAAG Mão Amiga Volunteer Team. Through this initiative, the airline reinforces its commitment to implementing SDG 4 – Quality Education, consolidating its social role in promoting well-being, education and closer relationships with the communities across the destinations it serves.
“THE CHILD’S VOICE” FEATURED AT THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ART FAIR LUANDA 2026
As part of the Sustainable Social Education Project included in TAAG’s Social Responsibility Agenda, entitled “The Child’s Voice”, three artworks created by children from the Child Reception and Care Home (LAAC) were prominently featured at the third edition of Art Fair Luanda 2026. The event took place from 11 to 14 June at the historic Iron Palace in Luanda, under the theme “Identity and Cultural Tourism”.
Among the exhibited artworks was “Njinga Nbandi, Queen of Angola”, created by Maunela Fernandes, a 14-year-old teenager under the care of LAAC.
The initiative reflects TAAG Angola Airlines’ commitment to corporate social responsibility. The airline has served as a patron of the institution since August 2023, through a Social Cooperation Protocol. Since then, the Company has continuously supported the development and empowerment of the children and teenagers in the institution’s care, creating opportunities and encouraging artistic expression as an educational tool and a means of social transformation for young people in vulnerable situations.
Through this initiative, TAAG reinforces its strategic commitment to the well-being of People and Communities across the destinations it serves.
