TAAG brings social action to the Shelter in Lubango

As part of its Corporate and Social Responsibility agenda, TAAG Angola Airlines, represented by members of the Board of Directors and the “Mão Amiga” volunteers, visited on Saturday, 28 June, the Shelter for Children (LAAC) in Lubango, an orphanage that houses children and teenagers in vulnerable situations.

This activity falls within the cooperation protocol signed between TAAG and LAAC in 2023. On an ongoing and permanent basis, both institutionally and through volunteering, TAAG has been supporting the Shelter by providing various donations, from food supplies and educational materials to IT equipment, as well as co-organising events on special occasions such as Children’s Day, Solidarity Christmas, among others.

During this particular visit, the official opening of the 1st Visual Arts Exhibition, with works created exclusively by the children of the Shelter, was also highlighted. This initiative is part of the Sustainable Social Education Project “The Voice of the Child”, launched in June 2024 through a partnership between TAAG and LAAC, aiming to foster the children’s interest in different forms of art and sport, giving visibility to their talent and encouraging their career orientation.

The children warmly welcomed the TAAG delegation, led by CEO Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira, with individual and group performances including singing, dancing, visual arts, poetry, musical instruments, and sports demonstrations.

TAAG thus reaffirms its commitment to the corporate pillar “People and Community”, combining its operations with support for social causes and disadvantaged groups, fostering a more positive and harmonious environment for the population, especially children. At the same time, the company strengthens its footprint in best ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices and the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
