Solidary December with Children with Albinism in Ondjiva

As part of its annual Corporate and Social Responsibility agenda — aligned with the principles of the United Nations 2030 Global Agenda on inclusion and well-being, and with the objective of strengthening community engagement, combating prejudice, and fostering a truly inclusive environment — TAAG carried out a social initiative dedicated to children with albinism at the Ondjiva station.

Promoted by the Corporate Volunteering movement “TAAG Helping Hand”, the activity took place on December 7th, 2025, at the TAAG Station in Ondjiva / Kuanhama Municipality, under the theme “Children and the Right to Play”. The event provided an interactive environment between children (with and without albinism), encouraging self-esteem and self-confidence among children with albinism. The moment included cutting the commemorative “Solidary December 2025” cake, offering snacks, children’s gifts, and various essential goods for the children and Guardians / Associated Members of ALPA (Association for the Support of Persons with Albinism).

The event was attended by representatives from the local social administration departments of the municipalities of Ombadja, Namacunde, and Kuanhama, as well as members of the “Tocoista Community Kitchen” of Ondjiva.

Representing TAAG were Directors Joaquina José (Social Responsibility Department), Luísa Hermes (Security Department), Edith Costa (Clinical Services Unit), the Social Responsibility Team, and TAAG Volunteers from the Ondjiva Station.

Through this initiative, TAAG reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that, within the social context, children with albinism have equal opportunities, rights, and protection.
