Every year, the third Saturday of January is the official launch of tulip season. That's when the Tulip National Day happens. A well deserved tribute to this flower, which is one of the most symbolic icon of Netherlands. An excellent opportunity to observe and appreciate the most diverse tulip species.

On average, over 10.000 visitors visit the event annually. One of the great attractions, is that people are invited to choose a tulip bouquet, offered by the event. Accept the invitation and come to pick yours!

In Dam Square

It is in this square in the center of Amsterdam that growers of tulips present Amsterdam with an immense temporary garden, which comprises approximately 200.000 tulips. The square turns into a beautiful garden, with the flowers grouped by colors, forming what it seems a dazzling sea of tulips, which amazes any appreciator.

This event is almost mandatory for Amsterdam visitors. So if you get a chance, don't miss the opportunity!

Practical Information

National Tulip Day takes place every year on the third Saturday of January.

The meeting point of this event is on Dam Square, in the Centre of Amsterdam, therefore quite accessible by public transportation.

The event is free. As the attendance is high, it is advisable to come early for the event.
