Try the Muscadet. One of the most recognized Nantes products. A dry white wine, made from Melon de Bourgogne grapes, and produced in the Loire Valley, close to Nantes, on the French West Coast, from about 11,500 acres of vineyards.
A very light and fresh wine with floral, fruity aroma, and high acidity. The recommended temperature for serving Muscadet is between 9 to 11ºC. Can be served as an appetizer, but pairs perfectly with local seafood, especially oysters.
Being a wine typical of the region, it is easy to find wine bars and restaurants with a good selection of various types of Muscadet. Check out “Les Tables de Nantes” for recommendations.
Suggestion: plan an evening on a terrace, in the company of the river Loire, and get a taste of Muscadet!
