The Medina is Casablanca’s traditional trade centre. Despite the modernisation that took place in the rest of the city, this old commercial quarter still clings to its traditional features: narrow streets; stores selling groceries, arts and crafts, clothes, spices and a variety of other products; and an architecture that combines Moroccan and European elements.
