Created by consular decree of Napoleon Bonaparte in the year 1800, the Arts Museum has a history of over two centuries and is considered an important cultural institution.

Since the 80´s with a continuous policy of acquisition, the Museum presents one of the best collections of contemporary art, with the challenge of asserting itself as a major french museum.

Closed during a period of 6 years, the Arts Museum reopened in June 2017, renovated by the London architecture studio Stanton Williams, who added more 2.000 m2 gallery space for art exhibitions.

Travel in the art history, and get to know a collection that presents more than 12.000 pieces of art, by artists such as Georges de La Tour, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Max Ernst, Pablo Picasso or Vassily Kandinsky.
