Created by consular decree of Napoleon Bonaparte in the year 1800, the Arts Museum has a history of over two centuries and is considered an important cultural institution.
Since the 80´s with a continuous policy of acquisition, the Museum presents one of the best collections of contemporary art, with the challenge of asserting itself as a major french museum.
Closed during a period of 6 years, the Arts Museum reopened in June 2017, renovated by the London architecture studio Stanton Williams, who added more 2.000 m2 gallery space for art exhibitions.
