Akara is a Nigerian gastronomic speciality, already exported to other countries, not only in Africa but also in Brazil. In northern Nigeria, it is also known as kosai.
They are usually eaten for breakfast but are a snack that can be enjoyed throughout the day.
What does it consist of? They are appetizing fried dumplings with a dough of peeled beans, onions and peppers, which can be accompanied with chilli powder or spicy tomato sauce.
